The 6-Plot Starter (560 Gold)
Four strawberry plots (125 gold each = 500 gold). Two potato plots (30 gold each = 60 gold). Total seed investment: 560 gold. I made this back in my first harvest cycle on day 2.
Strawberries go in the front row because they need 6 hours and you want them easy to access for harvesting. Potatoes go in the back because they only take 1 hour and you will replant them multiple times per day.
Expanding on a Budget
Do not expand your garden until you have a second stove. I made this mistake. Ten strawberry plots with one stove means 40 minutes of cooking per harvest. It was miserable.
When you do expand: add 4 strawberry plots (500 gold in seeds). Your total becomes 8 strawberries + 2 potatoes = 10 plots, 1,060 gold in seeds per planting. You need 2 stoves minimum to handle this volume.
How to Never Run Out of Seed Money
Keep 1,000 gold in reserve at all times. This covers one full 10-plot replanting. I dipped below this once in my first week and had to spend an hour foraging to rebuild my reserve. Never again.
